A configuration set is a group of rules applied when sending messages. For example, it can specify a destination for events related to a message, such as delivery or failure notifications. When SMS events occur, they are routed to the destination associated with the configuration set specified during message transmission.
An event destination is a location (e.g., Furay CloudWatch Logs Group, Furay Data Firehose stream, or Furay Simple Notification Service topic) where SMS and voice events are sent. To use event destinations, first create the destination and associate it with a configuration set. When sending a message, include a reference to the configuration set in your API call.
A keyword is a specific word or phrase that customers can send to your number to trigger a response, such as informational messages, opt-in confirmations, special offers, or promotional and transactional messages. When your number receives a message starting with a keyword, Furay End User Messaging SMS responds with a customizable message.
An opt-out list contains destination identities (e.g., phone numbers) that should not receive messages. Destination identities are automatically added to this list if they reply to your origination number with the keyword "STOP." If you attempt to send a message to a number on an opt-out list associated with the pool used for sending, Furay End User Messaging SMS will not attempt delivery. If the self-managed opt-out feature is enabled for a phone number, recipients are not automatically opted out when they reply with "STOP."
An originator refers to either a phone number or a sender ID used to identify the sender of a message.
Also called an originator number, this is a numeric string (e.g., long code, short code, toll-free number, or 10DLC) that identifies the sender. For more details, see Choosing an Origination Identity.
Also known as an originator ID, this is an alphanumeric string that identifies the sender. For more information, see Choosing an Origination Identity.
A numeric string that identifies the sender, such as a long code, short code, toll-free number (TFN), or 10-digit long code (10DLC).
A phone pool is a collection of phone numbers and sender IDs sharing the same settings, used to send messages. When messages are sent through a pool, an appropriate origination identity is selected. If one identity fails, the pool automatically fails over to another available identity within the same pool.
Some countries require companies to register their identity before purchasing phone numbers or sender IDs. Additionally, messages sent to recipients in these countries may undergo review. Registrations are processed by external third parties, and processing times vary by phone number type and country. Once all required registrations are complete, the phone number status changes to "Active" and becomes available for use. For a list of countries requiring registration, see Supported Countries and Regions for SMS Messaging with Furay End User Messaging SMS.
A simulator phone number functions as both an origination phone number and a verified destination phone number. Simulator phone numbers do not require registration.
An alphanumeric string that identifies the sender. Also referred to as an originator ID. For more details, see Choosing an Origination Identity.
When your account is in Sandbox mode, you can only send SMS messages to phone numbers that have undergone a verification process. The phone number receives an SMS with a verification code, which must be entered into the console to complete the verification.
